Great science deserves great communication.

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
2025
Hi, I’m Lilla Bodrogi — a biologist, science communicator, and biotechnology researcher who loves turning complex ideas into clear, engaging stories.
I’ve spent more than twenty years working in genetics and biotechnology, while also building a parallel career in science communication
I wrote regularly for the Origo science column for many years, completed the science journalism program at the Bálint György Journalism Academy and the Hungarian Science Journalists’ Club, and later expanded into digital communication, education and academic writing.
Today I work as a senior researcher at the Institute of Genetics and Biotechnology (MATE), where I also lead several communication‑related initiatives. In 2025 I launched and developed the institute’s Facebook and Instagram channels from scratch — growing the community from zero to hundreds of followers and reaching more than 60,000 views through fully organic content.
I’m passionate about making biotechnology understandable and enjoyable for students, teachers and anyone curious about how life works. To support this mission, I’ve completed international training programs such as Writing in the Sciences (Stanford University, 2023), Academic Writing Skills-C1 (Atlantic Language School, 2024. Ireland), and Teaching with AI (Advanced Institute of Skills Development, 2025. Portugal).
Whether I’m writing, teaching, designing educational materials, or developing science communication projects, my goal is always the same: bring science closer to people —
clearly, creatively, and with enthusiasm.

"If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”
